Purchasing Agent Industrial Construction Cost Savings Negotiating Terms & Conditions - Cleveland OH - JOB 20-00387Salary Range 75K - 100K Permanent Position with Benefits. A heavy industrial construction group is seeking to hire a Purchasing Agent to leverage vendors subcontractors across multiple procurements to create cost savings to project(s). Will research and evaluate suppliers based on price quality selection service support availability reliability production and distribution capabilities and the supplier s reputation and history.REQUIREMENTSBachelor s Degree coursework in construction management business administration engineering supply chain management or a related field is preferred. A minimal of 5 years experience of purchasing for industrial construction. Must have strong negotiating skills Prices Terms and Conditions. Knowledge of market research data analysis purchasing best practices and the technical aspects of construction. Cost consciousness within approved budget develops and implements cost saving measures contributes to profits and revenue conserves organizational resources. Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Microsoft Project. Working knowledge of business systems (i.e. Viewpoint) software. Able to make decisions exhibits sound and accurate judgment supports and explains reasoning for decisions includes appropriate people in decision-making process makes timely decisions. Able to prioritizes and plan work activities uses time efficiently plans for additional resources sets goals and objectives and develops realistic action plans. Assists Operations in creating the general and special conditions safety responsibilities and scope requisitions for each project to ensure that the scope schedule insurance and bonding requirements are clearly defined. Negotiates scope price and subcontract terms with vendors and subcontractors through subcontract award. Examines the plans and specifications for any deficiencies construction issues and technical questions and refer any findings to the project managers. Procures materials and subcontracts from qualified vendors and subcontractors. Confers with project managers users and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or service and determine corrective action. Seeking candidates that have some supervisory or basic management experience in order to move in to the managers role in the future.
