This beautiful porcelain mosaic horse measures 7 x6 These limited edition statues reflect the life-size Horse Fever statues dotting Marion County Florida. The statues continue to spark curiosity eight years after the public-art project s inception.Launched by the Marion Cultural Alliance in 2001 Horse Fever included 52 life-sized fiberglass horses decorated by area artists. They were displayed around town for months before they were sold at an auction that raised 1.2 million for charity.Nancy Ledding executive director of MCA said 27 of the 52 horses remain in the community.In 2005 MCA created a traveling herd of horses dubbed Horse Fever in Motion.
