The ChallengeWe are hiring an entry-level hard-working transportation worker to join our Granville County Maintenance team. In this role you will perform manual labor and equipment maintenance using hand tools on state-maintained roads. This includes shoveling raking asphalt flagging operations and driving a dump truck hauling materials to worksite. You will also drive a dump truck hauling materials to our worksites. What You BringExperience using hand tools such as shovels rakes brooms post hole diggers hammer screwdriver or torches. Experience doing manual labor. Good communications skills. Can repeatedly lift heavy objects. Good eyesight. Notes You will be required to work in extreme hot cold weather conditions and walk stand for long periods of time on uneven sloping ground and around high volumes of traffic. We may require evening and weekend work. You must obtain or have a valid State Class A CDL driver license within 90 days of hire and a permit within 60 days of hire. A pre-employment drug test is required and we will do a background check with your last 2 years of employers about drug alcohol. Safety toe footwear is required.
