The ChallengeWe are hiring for a skilled mechanic to join our DMV Supply and Logistics team. In this role you will Assist in the acquisition assignment and maintenance of vehicles. Order install and troubleshoot law enforcement vehicle emergency operating equipment other necessary aftermarket law enforcement vehicle equipment and Mobile Date Terminal (MDT) or Mobile Computer Terminal (MCT) systems. Assist our Supply and Logistics team members with general warehouse duties. Provide logistics support for DMV s statewide operations and occasional support for other DMV program areas. What You BringDemonstrated experience installing telecommunications support equipment and aftermarket equipment in vehicles Solid understanding and skills in the troubleshooting repair of equipment using test equipment to maintain proper working condition. Experience locating ordering installing adapting and testing Mobile Date Terminal (MDT) or Mobile Computer Terminal (MCT) systems and ensuring correct operation while maintaining vehicle electrical system integrity in accordance with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standards. Computer skills using a laptop web-based database Microsoft Office and a printer. Experience preparing and maintaining operations and specialized reports. Experience getting equipment quotes and ordering supplies and making recommendations to improvement existing equipment. Notes Due to the sensitive nature and safety precautions required for the use and maintenance of law enforcement vehicles weapons and equipment you must demonstrate the highest integrity in the daily oversight of the unit s operation to ensure that inventory controls are maintained at a high standard. This position is currently located at NCDMV in Raleigh and we anticipate moving to Rocky Mount in Fall 2022. Management PrefersCandidates with a valid driver s license. Education & ExperienceAssociate s degree in Electronics and 2 years of relevant experience repairing and maintaining complex electronic systems including some responsibility for electronic apparatus design or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
