Summer Outreach Presenter (May 23 - July 29)

The Summer Outreach Presenter is responsible for presenting McWane Science Center s reserved programs demonstrations across the state of Alabama. This position requires the ability to travel to different locations across the state to provide high-quality educational presentations to audiences at libraries schools and other venues.Accountabilities and Major Duties Lead educational presentations (shows demonstrations classroom presentations) Answer questions about presentations Prepare for and clean-up supplies for programs Ensure all supplies and equipment are in stock and are in working order Always present a high level of professionalism when carrying out assigned duties and responsibilities Minimum Job Qualifications Working toward a degree in science education or related field Dynamic public speaking and presentation skills Ability to travel throughout the state of Alabama Ability to interact well with diverse audiences of all ages Possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Ability to take initiative and present with little supervision Flexible and adaptable able to learn quickly Willing and able to work as part of a team Willingness to learn new things Valid Alabama Driver s license and personal vehicle liability insurance as required by state law Must have acceptable results from a Motor Vehicle Report and background checks Minimum Physical Job Qualifications Ability to operate a motor vehicle Ability to load equipment in and out of vehicles Ability to set-up and break down Outreach exhibits and displays Sit stand for extended periods of time Pull push lift objects frequently in performing the work Carry objects on a regular basis in the arms or on the shoulders Handle hazardous material Send resume and hourly rate requirement to HR(at)mcwane.org. today
