The Challenge We are looking for an experienced Transportation Project Manager to join our Raleigh HQ Technical Services team. In this role you will Manage a portfolio of centrally-managed STIP projects with low to moderate complexity during the pre-construction phase. Execute day-to-day activities and tasks on complex projects with assistance from the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager. Track and report on assigned tasks to the Project Manager and the Senior Project Manager. Develop project schedules ensuring that work is completed with projects remaining in scope on time and within budget. Maintain project milestones while tracking changes and decisions and identifying risks and mitigation strategies. Ensure deliverables produced are following all federal and state laws rules regulations policies and procedures. Provide technical guidance to private engineering firms (PEF) on design matters. Administer PEF contracts and participate in consultant selection. Provide scopes of service and cost estimates. Review progress reports. Check invoices for accuracy completeness. Provide performance feedback and make recommendations to the Senior Project Manager. What You BringExperience managing a project team to deliver transportation projects Knowledge of professional engineering principles and practices of civil engineering as related to Highway Design emphasizing project planning project design and construction and maintenance methods. Knowledge of and experience in scoping estimating and negotiating Professional Engineering contracts. Ability to set priorities develop work schedules monitor goal progress and track details data information activities. Demonstrated ability expressing moderately complex engineering concepts and related facts to internal and external customers. NoteWe may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
