Project engineer needs 6 years of Package Engineering experience involving package and packaging related to innovation and development and or the formal stage-gate qualification for new and improved packages in food and beverage consumer goods or pharmaceuticalsProject engineer requires First-hand experience with primary beverage packages (examples include aluminum cans and ends polymeric bottles plastic closures metal crowns and caps) as well as secondary beverage packaging materials (examples include labels clear and printed shrink wrap paperboard corrugate). Familiarity with related packaging equipment (fillers seamers cappers warmers and coolers labelers palletizers container and case conveyors) will is preferred BS or MS in Package Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Chemical Engineering or similar technical degree(s) 6 years of Package Engineering experience involving package and packaging related to innovation and development and or the formal stage-gate qualification for new and improved packages in food and beverage consumer goods or pharmaceuticals. Project management skills. Package innovation development and commercialization experience. Communication and interpersonal skills. First-hand experience in package project documentation including Excel workbooks client presentations trial protocols and reports. Lead trained and mentor a team of 2-5 internal Package Engineers for various client and supplier stakeholders. Able to work with minimal supervision be a self-starter and be self-driven. Hands-on work ethic to perform quality inspections execute package test methods and sample from operating production lines during package trials. Capability to lift full packages up to 30-40 lbs. during trials and execute other demanding physical tasks. Packaging experience in the food and beverage consumer goods pharmaceuticals or light industrial products. Willingness to travel domestically to support plant trials and start-up activities attend Client meetings and training opportunities. IOPP member (recommended) CPP (preferred) Project engineer duties Perform package qualifications for the client including quality inspections sampling and sample distribution general oversight based on a working knowledge of stage-gate processes and related qualification protocols. Support package trials including scheduling and set up coordinating client and DG resources securing materials and equipment data collection manipulation and reporting and documentation of trial results. Work will include proposal development managing a large portfolio of projects and overseeing project finances for both established clients and in the development of business with new clients.
