Material Handler needs 6 months or more related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experienceMaterial Handler requires HS Diploma or general education degree (GED) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Material Handler duties Reviews Daily customer orders as it pertains to material delivery from the Warehouse. i.e Kitting batching Kanban etc. Maintains adequate inventory levels (line-side) in an effort to support the assembly process Identifies overstocking material shortages discrepant material scrap quality concerns etc. Contacts appropriate members of Management in an effort to consciously identify potential problems concerns as it pertains to their specific job requirements Enters data into Material Database via computer scanner or other electronic devices as required Operates machinery pertinent to completing the tasks at hand. i.e. Forklift Tugger Pallet Jack Suggests continual Improvement opportunities while performing various tasks within the plant. Performs audits visual inspections verifications cycle counts as required by management Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to material handling Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations Other duties as required
