NEW HIGHER SALARY 37 577 - 65 760 The ChallengeWe are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our Fayetteville team as a lead project inspector. In this role you will Serve as the lead project inspector conducting independent complex inspections of structure and roadway items for project construction. Review safety and environmental items and supervise junior inspectors performing routine to moderately-complex inspections of roadway and structure construction processes and materials to assure compliance with contract agreements standards and specifications. Evaluate and apply engineering judgement to plan interpretation. Establish and maintain positive communications between technicians engineers contractors and the public. Traverse rough terrain in evaluating highway construction. Apply a safety philosophy and program to all operations. What You BringExperience with contract administration performing inspection sampling and testing of materials (concrete asphalt density) to ensure compliance with NCDOT specifications. Knowledge in understanding contracts plans standards and specifications. Computer skills using iPads laptops and desktop computers and HiCams Share Point programs plus math functions. Experience maintaining neat legible and accurate records and reports including computer iPad data entry. Ability to work in close proximity of high traffic and heavy construction equipment. Skills to accurately maintain daily records of work accomplished. Ability to drive a State vehicle. NotesSafety toe shoes required. Candidates with a valid Driver s License is preferred. Education & ExperienceAssociate s degree in Civil Engineering Technology Survey Technology or a related field and 2 years relevant technician-level experience or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
