Grossing Technician - Hiring immediately

Primex Clinical Laboratories Inc. is seeking a qualified Grossing Technician with 1-2 years minimum experience to join our Pathology and Grossing Department on a temp to permanent basis. The candidate will be responsible for the preparation and processing grossing of tissue samples for pathological examination. Key Responsibilities Accurate preparation and processing of tissue samples for pathological examination. Comply with standard operating procedures safety guidelines and regulatory requirements Label and document specimens to maintain accurate case logs and records Coordinate with other departments to ensure an efficient workflow Assist in internal quality control and participate in external proficiency testing General Support of department workload including but not limited to light filing and paperwork. Qualifications Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology or a minimum of 60 semester hours including relevant science courses as required by CLIA 88 Certification from a recognized agency such as ASCP is preferred but not mandatory Experience in a pathology laboratory setting is an asset Skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work as part of a team Strong communication skills both written and verbal Proficiency in operating standard laboratory equipment Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
