NEW HIGHER SALARY 54 197 - 94 844 The ChallengeWe are looking for an entry level engineer to be our Assistant Resident Engineer on our Beryl Road Resident Engineering team. In this role you will Assist our Resident Engineer in the day-to-day contract administration of major and minor transportation projects. Supervise NCDOT staff and contractors and prepare evaluate their performance evaluations. Promote a safe working environment. Prepare monthly and final estimates. Conduct written and verbal communication with contractors inspection staff utility companies and the public to ensure compliance with contract plans standards and specifications. Evaluate data collected by field staff. Review contract plans specifications and materials testing results. What You BringExperience reading interpreting and administering highway construction plans and contracts. Experience directing assisting or training staff. Experience administering contracts. Knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering and general concepts practices and theories used in construction construction inspection and or construction surveying. Ability to withstand extreme weather and terrain conditions while performing duties. Ability to safely operate a State vehicle. Safety toe shoes. A high degree of work accuracy and precision. You work well with minimal supervision. NotesPreference will be given to applicants who have EIT or Registered Professional Engineer. You will be working in various types of weather and terrain on projects. We may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. You must be available as necessary to manage staff 7 days per week 24 hours per day. Your work time will be split 70 30 between the office and the field. You may be required to work nights weekends holidays and extended hours as necessary. Education and ExperienceBachelor s degree in engineering or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
