NEW HIGHER SALARY 42 464 - 74 313 The ChallengeWe are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician III to join our Construction Engineering Team to serve as a lead project inspector. In this role you will Support senior engineers running large highway construction projects. Monitor daily project progress including project diaries and correspondence with contractors. Resolve constructability issues to maintain project schedules. Direct and schedule technicians staking out and inspecting every project phase to ensure it is built according to plans and specifications in a timely and cost-effective manner. Perform office and field duties. Manage all aspects of assigned construction projects with limited supervision from senior engineers. Supervise and train multiple technicians including NCDOT staff and contract construction inspectors. What You BringExperience analyzing and interpreting highway construction plans and applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems. Experience planning developing scheduling tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision. Customer service experience related to solving problems involving explaining complicated engineering concepts to customer groups. You work best in a team environment. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Good note taking skills. Good communication skills. Ability to supervise activities of junior staff and instruct them in proper work methods. Safety toe shoes. Education and ExperienceAssociate s degree in Engineering Technology Survey Technology or a related field and 3 years of relevant technician experience or An equivalent combination of education and experience. NotesYou must be able to obtain and maintain certifications required to perform material sampling and testing. You will be on call 24X7 and may be required to work nights weekends holidays and extended hours as necessary.
