NEW HIGHER SALARY 38 516 - 67 404 The ChallengeWe re looking for an Electronics Technician to join our Division 2 Traffic Services team working in Craven Carteret Jones Pamlico and surrounding counties. In this role you will Maintain and repair electrical electronic and computerized traffic control systems throughout NCDOT Division 8. Assist in the installation testing upgrades and inspections of new and existing Traffic Control Systems. Install traffic signal equipment using wiring detectors. Install and wire controllers. Trace out electrical wiring diagrams to locate trouble. Dismantle and reassemble components. Replace worn faulty parts. Maintain computer records for all signal work your time worked and all materials. What You BringKnowledge of standard test equipment used to diagnose electronic components. Experience reading and understanding schematic drawings and wiring diagrams. Knowledge of the National Electric Code. Demonstrated ability to plan schedule and carry out work assignments effectively with minimal supervision. Experience performing manual and physical labor in varied environmental conditions. Strength to lift up to 80 pounds or more shoulder high. Ability to use and operate an aerial bucket truck up to 60 feet. Good ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and comply with all safety rules policies to maintain a safe work environment. Ability to perform manual physical labor in the installation and removal of traffic signs and other traffic control devices. You can work outside in extreme cold and hot and with exposure to noise dust asphalt traffic and heavy construction. Ability to get a Class A Commercial Driver s License and Tanker N Endorsement within 360 days of hire. (If you don t have it already still apply. You can get it through our On-the-job Training). NotesYour work will be performed without constant supervision and will be evaluated by your supervisor to ensure an efficient use of time and proper operation of repaired maintained Traffic Control Systems. Education & ExperienceAssociate s degree in Electronics and 1 year experience in the repair and maintenance of specialized electronic devices preferably including some responsibility for circuit modification or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
