ROLE of the POSITION The UNLV Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is a newly developed Department with an ACGME accredited orthopaedic surgery residency program that will enroll its first class of PGY-1 interns to begin July 1 2016. Candidates should be committed to an academic surgical practice clinical and or basic science research and resident teaching. We seek candidates that are enthusiastic and willing to be members of a team committed to building an outstanding Academic Orthopaedic Department and Residency Program. QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a MD DO degree or equivalent degree from a regionally accredited college or university BC BE and Fellowship Trained in the following sub-specialties Trauma Spine and Pediatrics. Must be board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with successful completion of an accredited Orthopaedic fellowship prior to employment commencing or if board eligible board certification must be completed within the first two years of employment. Applicant must be eligible for and obtain an unrestricted Nevada medical license malpractice insurance and must be able to be successfully licensed and credentialed by affiliated teaching hospitals.
