ESSENTIAL FUNCTION Assist in identifying facilities underground and assisting loss prevention. Locates underground utilites and paints their location for the operating crews. Success Factors Job Competencies Strong work ethic Attention to detail and accuracy Commitment to company values Ability to give direction adapt to change and establish relationships Ability to manage through conflict complexity and to problem solve issues Organizational skills ability to handle several projects concurrently Ability to review and understand construction drawings and specifications Knowledge of public safety and security issues and regulations Ability to work independently and self-directed takes initiative in seeking efficiencies of processes ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Search for underground utilities Properly mark underground utilities Complete paperwork for locates Correctly and safely locate underground utilities Constantly communicate with team members Maintains accuracy in all reporting functions Ensure safe operation of support equipment Ensure vehicle is clean and assist with identifying hazards Wears appropriate safety apparel and is aware of and follows all established safety practices and procedures May be required to work day evening or night hours overtime weekends and out-of-town assignments as required Preform other related duties as assigned Occasional hand digging WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions including climbing sitting standing walking and driving Regular exposure to all weather conditions especially hot humid and or rainy spring summer and fall weather combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions Assume responsibility for work outcomes and results of other workers. May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated When working on site will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment such as safety glasses gloves hearing protection hard hats and life jackets EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Approximately 1 year of utility locating experience All candidates agree to complete a selection assessment and pre-employment drug screen.
