Online Tutor Needed Company VIPKid is an online ESL teaching platform that provides a virtual classroom setting for teachers and students in China specifically children between the ages of 4-12. It s a similar business model to other online ESL companies such as Qkids DadaABC and Cambly. Founded in 2013 they have been the recipient of awards such as the US-China Entrepreneurship Leader Award and the Top 21 Global Innovation Award. s www.youtube.com watch v 366sL_8FBpEWhat would you do You will be working with children from the ages of 3 to 14 depending on what area of teaching and age group will be recommended to you or preference. You are allowed to set your own hours (Each session is 25 minutes in length). Some weeks I only work only one session others weeks are can work up to 45-5o (depending on my preference and schedule for the week) You are able to open your availability up to a month in advance if you so choose. Each week you may change your schedule (very flexible schedule). All lesson plans are provided by the company (as well as teacher directions). Qualifications Bachelor s degree (does not have to be in teaching but is absolutely a requirement) Experience with children( classroom church childcare tutoring mentor elementary teacher coach babysitting and etc.) Be energetic ready to create a fun atmosphere for children and be eager to help educate children (use of props and items to engage the learner) Native English in America. Hours that will be available to work will consist of 6 30 p.m-8 30 a.m (You set your own work schedule and hours vary per time change). You work as much and as little as you would like too (before or after work or just on the weekends). YOUR CHOICE Pay You will start from 8- 10 per class session depending on experience. From there you will receive incentives (You can receive a 1 for participation 1 for attendance and 5 for enrolling new students during trials). Essentially you have the possibility of earning anywhere from 18- 22 an hour. Each contract is renewed every 6 months with a chance of negotiating for raises. Attendance You are only allowed up to 6 no shows for the 6 month contract or your contract may not be renewed. There is a possibility for cancellations and soft cancellations based on emergency and with doctor s note. Incentives are given for good attendance and participation. It will give you two options to record and send in a video on your own or complete a live interview with an interviewer watching. Choose one option. Either way works.
