SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Operations Technician Metal Finisher - Rough Casting Orchid Oregon performs Visual & Dimensional Inspection of castings per tech card using appropriate tools including but not limited to hand grinding equipment measuring tool s.The Operations Technician Metal Finisher - Rough Casting reports to the Celll Cell2 Department Operations Supervisor.KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Perform Visual & Dimensional Inspection of castings per tech card using appropriate tools including but not limited to hand grinding equipment measuring tools. Confirm discrepancies using appropriate tools including but not limited to calipers pin gages measuring instruments and surface profilometers as required. Rework discrepancies as allowed by tech card using appropriate tools route to salvage operations as necessary with required documentation. Review rework and scrap castings with department lead as necessary. Identify and record as Scra p all castings that do not meet custome r specifications after rework. Route Scra p castings to designated area . Complete proper documentation as required including but not limited to process routing card salvage router scrap tags dimensional reports etc. Perform or assist in performing training of personnel as directed by the department supervisor or lead. Use hand truck pallet jack carts and tables to safely transport product. Maintain work area tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition. Detect and report faulty equipment defective material and any unusual conditions to the department supervisor or lead. Follow designated safety rules and regulations . Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives. Perform other duties as required or directed by the Department Supervisor or Lead. EXPERIENCE Manufacturing experience preferred KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to use adjustable measuring instruments Basic understanding of interpreting dimensional call-outs and finish specifications on prints Ability to visually detect defects Blue Print reading Understanding of GD& T Ability to run automated equipment Ability to apply logic and reasoning to solve problems including identifying strengths weaknesses locating alternative solutions and conclusions and approaches to problems and making high-quality timely decisions EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION High School or equivalent ABOUT OUR VALUES AND LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIESValues Integrity First We Do the Right Thing Teamwork We Are All Connected Relentless Pursuit We Are Driven & CuriousPHYSICAL DEMANDS Work performed in manufacturing environment where exposure to a number of elements occurs. Frequent lifting of materials up to 35 . Infrequent lifting of materials between 35 and 50 . Requires repetitive grasping fingering manipulation of materials . Requires use of foot controls. Use of PPE per JHA. Visual acuity equal to Jaeger 2 at not less than 12 corrected or uncorrected in at least 1 eye.
