SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe CMM programmer is responsible for providing support to engineering and production through advanced Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and inspection. Effectively communicate inspection results to Project Management Quality Engineering and Production. Works with engineers supervisors managers and production personnel to help resolve quality issues achieve team objectives and promote quality principles.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWrite edit and maintain CMM programs based on customer company specifications within a fast-paced environment. Create maintain and follow secure and accessible CMM program folder and file structures. Troubleshoot and contact outside technical support services for CMM software as needed. Prepare detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications. Create and perform GR& Rs and correlation studies as needed. Write update and improve quality procedures and work instructions as required. Assist Engineers CNC Programmers Technicians and Customers with qualification and validation of new or revised parts or tooling. Assist engineers with the conceptualization and development of part fixtures to hold parts during inspection. Assist in mentoring quality and production personnel on proper inspection techniques. Assists with in-house training on CMM equipment and software. Adhere to established ISO 13485 and FDA requirements. Adhere to established safety practices and follow safe work practices. Maintain company customer and supplier confidentiality. Complete required router information. Maintain work area tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment. Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Assist and train others as needed. May be required to perform additional duties as assigned by Team Leader or management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GED. Experience with PC-DMIS. Experience with Calypso preferred. Previous Manufacturing experience preferred but not required. SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREDHigh attention to detail. Good oral and written communication skills. Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to read blue prints and correctly interpret GD& T. Well-organized and able to multi-task to meet tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook Power Point etc). Must adhere to Company Code of Conduct and Core Values. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWork performed in manufacturing environment where exposure to a number of elements occurs. Standing required 66% of the time. Lifting of materials to 50 up to 10% of the time. Must have vision correctable to 20 20 (may be correctable with eyeglasses or contact lenses). Requires repetitive grasping fingering manipulation of materials. Must be able to work overtime as needed. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined for the position. OTHER REQUIREMENTSMust submit to and pass background and substance abuse tests.
