Status Part Time (20 Hours)Schedule Mon Fri (8 30am 12 30pm)Reporting Relationships Reports to Transportation Manager.General Summary of Duties The Mail Courier is responsible for collecting sorting and transporting mail to all sites as scheduled. It may also be necessary at various times to transport other materials as assigned to Pathways locations. The Mail Courier may also perform other functions in the position such as special assignments or errands that need to be run on behalf of the agency.Essential Responsibilities or Functions of the Position 1. Responsible for collecting sorting and transporting mail to all sites as scheduled.2. Performs errands for the agency as directed.3. May be responsible at times to transport packages or other materials to sites as necessary and as assigned.4. Assumes responsibility for daily care and light maintenance of vehicle. Refers problems or heavier maintenance issues to Transportation Manager as necessary.5. Assumes responsibility for maintaining a safe driving record.6. Performs other functions as assigned.Typical Working Conditions Indoor and outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions. Exposed to a variety of road hazards when driving from site to site. Has routine contact with employees and staff of Pathways as well as a variety of Pathways consumers. Has regular contact with the public when performing errands on behalf of the agency.Exposure category 1 (OSHA Blood borne Pathogens).Typical Physical Demands Requires some sitting driving standing walking bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires excellent eye-hand coordination and dexterity necessary to drive safely and defensively. Requires legible handwriting for documentation and tracking.Knowledge Skills and Abilities Must be efficient organized and have excellent driving skills as well as a thorough knowledge of the upkeep and operation of delivery vehicles. Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver s License and insurability status with the Agency. Familiarity of local geographical area and willingness to flex work schedule as needed.Education and Experience Requires a high school diploma.
