The Challenge We are looking for an experienced Engineer to join our Erosion and Sedimentation Control Program team in our Raleigh headquarters. In this role you will Perform complex engineering reviews of NCDOT construction activities and the development of sedimentation and erosion control plans for statewide projects. Direct plan preparation and meet schedules for your projects. Coordinate with other NCDOT units Federal Highway Administration and State agencies to achieve schedule goals and proper design. What You BringExperience working with private engineering firms in the development of Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans for highway construction projects. Experience with in-depth review of construction projects and design of sediment and erosion control plans to ensure Sediment Pollution Control Act (SPCA) compliance. Knowledge of review and analysis of active highway construction projects to determine inefficiencies of erosion and sediment control plans or implementation process. Knowledge of engineering related to actual performance effectiveness and cost of erosion and sedimentation practices and procedures. Skills developing sedimentation and erosion control guideline manuals to be used by Construction and Maintenance personnel. Knowledge and experience in highway design plan preparation and the current design principles of sediment and erosion control. Management PrefersCandidates registered as an NC Professional Engineer Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control. NoteWe may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
