The ChallengeWe are looking for an NC-Certified General Appraiser to join our Winston-Salem team. In this role you will Perform administrative work in the review and evaluation of property appraisals in the acquisition of Highway Right of Way. Review all appraisal reports and evaluate their completeness accuracy and consistency. Assist management in evaluating fee appraiser applications and analyzing rating fee appraiser s quality of work promptness of delivery and conformity of reports to departmental and appraisal contract standards. What You BringNC General Real Estate Appraiser Certification. Considerable knowledge of The acquisition and disposition of real property. State laws related to real estate conveyances easements contracts and eminent domain. Working knowledge of Right of Way policies and procedures. State and federal tax laws related to real estate transactions. Various appraisal methods. Skill understanding highway plans and construction methods and the ability to explain them verbally and in writing to property owners. Skills to write clear concise documented reports. Ability to interact with all levels of government management and public. Can interpret legal documents related to real estate transactions. Experience interpreting data to assure adherence to State and Federal regulations. Skills reviewing appraisals of staff and Fee Appraisers to assure that they arrived at fair market value. Excellent communication skills to engage with other appraisers and the public. Staff development training process experience. Computer skills in Microsoft Office (especially Word & Excel) and scanning software. Education & ExperienceBachelor s degree in Business Economics Real Estate or related field (i.e. Civil or Structural Engineering Architecture) and 4 years of right of way real estate appraisal experience or High School GED and 8 years of right of way real estate appraisal experience including 4 years in right of way work or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
