The ChallengeWe are looking for a skilled mechanic to join our Asheboro Equipment Shop team. In this role you will service diagnose repair and rebuild mechanical systems for a variety of gas- and diesel-powered automotive and heavy equipment. What You BringExperience performing preventative maintenance on light medium or heavy duty trucks and heavy duty equipment. Diagnostics experience with basic electrical systems and proper repair of wiring. Basic hydraulic system repair experience including component replacement and hoses. Experience troubleshooting and repairing of one or more of the following light medium heavy duty or farm equipment brake components. Computer skills needed to obtain diagnostic and repair information. Knowledge of diagnostic software tools and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment. Ability to perform skilled mechanic work on these systems 00-Preventive Maintenance 01-A C Heating & Ventilation 13-Brakes 15-Steering 17-Tires Tubes Liners & Valves 18-Wheels Rims Hubs & Bearings 23-Clutch 26-Transmission-Main (Manual) 31-Charging System 32-Cranking System 33-Ignition System 34-Lighting System 42-Cooling System 43-Exhaust System 44-Fuel System 45-Power Plant 54-Horn & Mounting & Reverse signal alarms 65-Hydraulic Systems. Solid knowledge of the methods practices procedures principles and operation of internal combustion engines. Working knowledge of the methods of servicing repairing rebuilding & diagnosing depending on the type of mechanic system. Skills operating automotive and heavy equipment and the methods to be used in the repair. Ability to read and understand shop and repair manuals. Strength & dexterity to move relatively-heavy objects. Safety Toe Shoes. Management PrefersCandidates with experience on 03-Instruments gauges warning & shutdown. 56-Power take-off. NotesYou will need to have a Class A Commercial Driver s License within 90 days of hire. We may require EPA certification as a Type I II III or Universal technician. A pre-employment drug test is required. We will do a background check with previous employers for the past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol. Safety Toe Shoes are required.
