The ChallengeWe are hiring 2 full time temporary transportation workers to join our Randolph County Highways team to perform build and maintain roads in the region. This position is full time for 11 months and can be renewed In this role you will Operate a medium-sized dump truck. Install traffic control and erosion control devices. Clear right of ways. Repair pavement. Install pipes. Inventory materials. Flag work zone traffic. Operate chainsaws. Shovel materials. Pick up litter. Perform emergency work including snow and ice removal as needed. Climb steep and uneven terrain and work in extreme temperatures. What You BringA team player who can work in a close team environment and independently. Experience doing manual labor and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Experience using small hand tools including shovels rakes brooms posthole diggers hammers screwdrivers and torches. An excellent work ethic with good ability to listen be safe and follow verbal and written instructions. No fear of heights. NotesYou must obtain or have a Class A Commercial Drivers License within 90 days of hire. If you don t already have it you must obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License Permit within 60 days of hire. We will do a background check with your last 2 years of employers about drug alcohol abuse. Safety toe footwear is required. You must be able to obtain and maintain a supervision of inmate certification within 30 days of hire.
