About Advertigo – Montserrat
Advertigo is a free classifieds marketplace. Since 2009 we have given people a simple, no-cost place to advertise what they are selling, renting, offering or looking for — without commission, without a cut of the sale, and without standing between the buyer and the seller.
Advertigo is a classifieds board, not a shop. We host the listing; everything else — the negotiation, the payment, the handover — happens directly between the two people involved. We never take payment for an item, never hold funds in escrow, and never ship anything. That keeps the service free, and it also means you should treat every deal here the way you would treat a deal arranged through a newspaper ad: meet in person where you can, inspect before you pay, and be sceptical of anyone who insists on an unusual payment method.
Posting is free. You can run up to 10 ads at a time with up to 8 photos each. We operate a separate edition for every country, so an ad posted in one country is shown to people looking in that country.
We are transparent about this because it affects what you see. Advertigo is funded by three things: advertising shown on the site, featured ads (a seller can pay to have a listing pinned to the top of the front page for a year), and banner rental. Nothing else. Paying for a featured slot buys visibility — it does not buy an endorsement from us, and it does not mean we have verified the seller. Featured listings are labelled as such.
We would rather tell you exactly where the line is than leave you guessing.
- Every listing is checked against our automated filters when it is posted, and again when it is edited.
- Every listing carries a Report this ad link. Reports are read by a person, not a queue that nobody looks at.
- Ads that go stale are removed, so the board reflects what is actually still for sale.
- We do not accept adult, escort or personals listings. These categories were closed permanently and will not return.
- We remove listings for weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, live animals sold for profit, and anything illegal in the country the ad is posted in.
- We remove listings that exist only to farm contact details, and accounts that post the same ad across many cities.
What we cannot do is verify that a seller is who they say they are, or that an item is as described. No classifieds site can. If a listing looks wrong to you, report it — you will usually spot it before we do. See Terms for the complete list of what is not allowed.

Advertigo launches as a free classifieds board with a single principle: the person placing the ad should never have to pay to place it.

2010–2019
The site expands into a separate edition for every country, translated into more than fifty languages, with regional managers covering the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

A full trust-and-safety review: adult and personals categories permanently closed, stale listings purged, moderation policy published, and the reporting process rebuilt around a real person reading the reports.
A small team, with a named manager for each region
Advertigo is run by a small permanent team rather than a call centre. Each region has a country manager you can email directly, and each department — billing, sales, media, technical, HR — has its own address rather than a single form that disappears into nothing. You will find all of them, with names and photographs, on the Contact us page. If something on this site is wrong, there is a person to tell.
The overwhelming majority of people on Advertigo are ordinary people selling ordinary things. A small minority are not. The patterns worth walking away from are consistent and easy to learn: a seller who will only talk on WhatsApp; a price far below what the item is worth; a request for a deposit, gift card or wire transfer before you have seen the item; a “shipping agent” who needs paying first; an item that is somehow always in a different city from the one in the ad. None of these are proof of fraud on their own. All of them together are.
